Booking & Fees Information

What are the fees for a wedding at Emmanuel Parish Church?

Wedding fees are reviewed every year. Fees for 2018 are as follows:

  • Church Fee £504 (this includes banns, verger, marriage service & certificate)
  • Organist Fee £85
  • Choir (optional) £100 (the choir needs to be booked at least 2- 3 months before the wedding)
  • Bells (Optional) £150 (as above, needs to be booked 2- 3 months before wedding)

For weddings taking place in the colder months (between 1 Oct & 31 Mar), there is a small additional fee of £35 (optional) as a contribution to heating costs.

If you are to be married on a weekday or major holiday weekend we would appreciate early notice if you wish to have either the bells or choir to enable us to ensure we have adequate people present on the day. Please note it may not be possible to arrange for bells or a choir midweek.

Fees must be paid in full by the date of the wedding rehearsal at the very latest. We do not ask for a deposit.

How do we book a wedding at Emmanuel Parish Church?

You will need to have some idea of the date(s) you are looking at for your wedding. It is important that you check with the Vicar or Churchwardens the availability of the church and whether you are able to fulfill the requirements set out above.

Emmanuel is a popular church for weddings and many people book 12 – 18 months in advance. You should book the church before you make final arrangements for your reception as we cannot guarantee that the church will be available on the date or at the time you require.

Marriages can take place any day of the week between 8am – 5.15pm (you must be declared husband and wife before 6pm). Although it is possible to be married in church on a Sunday this is at the discretion of the Vicar and may only be possible in exceptional circumstances.

Once you have discussed possible dates you will both be asked to attend a meeting with the Vicar to get your details and to go through some basic information. It is only after this meeting that your date is confirmed.
